Letter 32: The Rescue Boat – A Safe Place in the Storm
This is Letter 32 from Rescue Mission from Heaven.
When you’ve reached the end of yourself, when the waves are too high—Jesus shows up with the rescue boat. This one’s for the broken, the tired, the ones who thought they had to hold it all together.
THE RESCUE BOAT
A Safe Place in the Storm
I never knew I needed rescuing.
I thought I could keep myself afloat—that my strength, my plans, would carry me through.
But the waves came anyway, crashing over my head, pulling me under.
I tried to swim on my own.
I tried to build my own boat out of good deeds and trying harder.
But every time, I sank deeper.
Fear.
Shame.
Hopelessness.
Then, in the middle of my storm—
At my lowest point—
Jesus showed up.
He came in a lifeboat—strong, real, safe.
He didn’t promise me smooth sailing.
He promised me Himself.
Maybe that’s you right now.
Maybe you’re adrift, feeling like the waves will swallow you whole.
Maybe you’ve tried to build your own boat, and it keeps falling apart.
I get it. I’ve been there.
But I’m here to tell you: Jesus is your rescue boat.
He’s steady in the storm.
His arms are strong enough to pull you out of the water.
He’s not afraid of your mess, your fear, your shame.
He came for you.
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” (Proverbs 18:10)
Friend, don’t wait for the waves to take you under.
Step into the lifeboat.
Call out to Jesus.
He’s closer than you think.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I’m tired of trying to keep myself afloat.
I can’t do it anymore.
I need You to rescue me.
I’m stepping into Your boat now.
Hold me close.
Save me. Amen.
Action Step:
Imagine Jesus’s lifeboat pulling up beside you in the storm.
Climb in—with all your fear, all your doubt, all your shame.
He’s waiting to rescue you.
