Letter 34: The Lost One – The Father Who Found Me

This is Letter 34 from Rescue Mission from Heaven.

THE LOST ONE – THE FATHER WHO FOUND ME

I was always searching for Him.
Even when I didn’t know what I was looking for, my heart was restless—yearning for something more.
I tried to fill the emptiness with the world’s answers: approval, success, comfort.
But nothing ever satisfied.
I’d ache inside.

Every time I thought I’d found what I needed, it slipped through my fingers like sand.
I couldn’t find Him.
No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t find the peace, the love, the rescue I longed for.

Then, in the deepest darkness—when my world crumbled and I hit rock bottom—I found Him.
I didn’t have the strength to search anymore.
I was on the floor, broken and empty.
And that’s where He met me.

He was there all along—waiting for me to stop running.
Waiting for me to let go.
Waiting for me to surrender.

He didn’t come with shame.
He came with mercy.
With compassion.
With arms open wide.

He lifted me up from the floor.
He carried me on His shoulders—
the weight was His now, not mine.
And in that moment?

I finally saw what I had been searching for all along:
Love that never gives up.
Grace that covers every failure.
A Father who never stops pursuing His child.

I am the one He left the ninety-nine for.
I am the one He found on the floor, broken but beloved.
And He’s searching for you too.
He knows your name.
He knows every tear.
And He will never stop pursuing you—until He brings you home.

Because you are worth it to Him. Every single time.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for finding me in the darkest place.
Thank You for never giving up on me—for leaving the ninety-nine to carry me home.
I surrender my heart to You.
Take my brokenness and make it whole.
Give me eyes to see Your mercy and a heart to receive Your love.
I want to walk in the light of Your grace every day. Amen.
