Letter 3: The Lion and the Lamb
A majestic lion lies peacefully beside a gentle white lamb in a field of soft grass. The lion gazes forward with quiet strength, while the lamb nestles calmly against him. The image beautifully symbolizes Jesus as both the Lion of Judah and the Lamb of God—powerful, yet tender.
This is Letter 3 from Rescue Mission from Heaven. This letter, reveals the beauty of Jesus as both Lion and Lamb. Fierce in his protection, tender in his mercy. Let it remind you who fights for you…And who laid down his life to rescue you.
The Lion and the Lamb
The Warrior Who Became My Rescue
The Lion roars with justice, protecting His children from every force of darkness. His voice thunders with power and righteous
judgment, shaking the heavens and declaring: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper.” (Isaiah 54:17)
When fear tries to drown me, the Lion’s roar reminds me: nothing escapes His watchful eye. He is my Defender, my Rock, my Fortress in the storm.
But this same mighty Lion came to me as the Lamb—humble, gentle, and willing to be sacrificed for my sin.
He laid down His life willingly, taking my punishment upon Himself so I could live.
He is the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. The Lamb who leads me beside still waters when I’m weary and broken.
The Lamb who says, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
I see Him now—the Lion who fights for me, and the Lamb who died for me.
The One who calls me out of darkness and into His marvelous light.
The One who is both my defender and my healer.
When the battle rages around me, I hear the Lion’s roar: “Fear not, for I am with you.”
When the burden feels too heavy to bear, I feel the Lamb’s gentle touch—His tender mercy that reminds me I am never alone.
And soon—yes, very soon—the Lion and the Lamb will return. He is coming on the clouds, and every eye will see Him. Every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. (Philippians 2:10–11)
The King of kings.
The Lion and the Lamb.
My Rescuer—forever.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being both my Lion and my Lamb. When I’m afraid, roar over my life. When I’m broken, hold me gently. I trust You—my Savior, my Defender, my King. Amen.
