Letter 17: Prayer That Moves Mountains
This is Letter 17 from Rescue Mission from Heaven. There’s a kind of prayer that doesn’t just whisper—it shakes the impossible. This letter is for the one standing at the base of a mountain, eyes lifted, heart trembling, wondering if faith still moves anything at all. Here’s your reminder: yes, it does.
When Faith Meets the Impossible
The storms can feel overwhelming.
The waves so high they block out the sun.
The floodwaters so deep you wonder if you’ll ever see dry ground again.
But Jesus said:
“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
(Matthew 17:20)
Prayer isn’t a last resort—
it’s your lifeboat’s anchor and engine.
It’s how you hold on to Jesus when the waves rise,
how you call on heaven’s power when the world says it’s impossible.
Prayer isn’t just asking.
It’s believing.
It’s trusting that the One who made the mountains can move them.
It’s knowing that the One who calmed the sea can calm your storm.
I’ve seen mountains move—
relationships restored,
provision where there was nothing,
peace in the middle of the chaos.
But every miracle started with a simple prayer:
“Jesus, I trust You. I believe.”
The enemy wants you to doubt.
To believe your prayers are too small,
too weak,
too late.
But Jesus says:
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.”
(Matthew 7:7)
Friend, don’t let the size of your mountain stop you.
Don’t let the storm drown out your voice.
Lift your eyes.
Lift your voice.
And pray.
Because prayer—even the size of a mustard seed—moves mountains.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I bring my mountains to You.
I trust You to move what I can’t.
Give me faith that stands firm, even in the storm.
Teach me to pray big prayers—prayers that move the impossible. Amen.
Action Step
Write down one mountain in your life that feels too big to move.
Pray over it today—and keep praying,
believing that Jesus is already at work. [Read the next letter here.]
