Letter 5: Walking in the Spirit
A soft, white feather rests gently against a warm golden-yellow background. The feather appears weightless and delicate, symbolizing peace, purity, and the gentle presence of the Holy Spirit. The image evokes a sense of stillness, comfort, and divine reassurance.
This is Letter 5 from Rescue Mission from Heaven. The road is too hard to walk in your own strength. This letter is a gentle reminder, you were never meant to carry it all. The Holy Spirit is ready to lead you.
Walking in the Spirit
When the Flesh Falls Away
This world pulls at you—tempting you to go your own way, to follow the crowd, to trust in yourself instead of the One who
made you.
But Jesus gave us something the world can’t touch—His Spirit. His very presence—living inside us.
“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16)
Walking in the Spirit isn’t a checklist.
It’s not about being perfect.
It’s about letting Him lead you—moment by moment, step by step.
The flesh will always fight for control—anger, pride, jealousy, fear. But the Spirit leads you to life.
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. (Galatians 5:22–23)
I’ve tried to do it on my own.
Tried to be strong enough, good enough, faithful enough.
But every time, I fell short. Every time, I realized I can’t do this without Him.
Walking in the Spirit means surrendering—letting Him guide your steps, letting Him produce the fruit you can’t grow on your own.
It means trusting Him when the path feels uncertain, when the waves feel too high, when the narrow road feels too hard.
Because the Spirit doesn’t just lead you—He carries you.
Friend, don’t walk this road alone. The lifeboat was never meant to be powered by your own strength.
Invite the Holy Spirit to guide you.
Let Him be your compass, your anchor, your wind in the sails.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I need You. Lead me, guide me, fill me. Help me walk by Your strength and not my own. Grow Your fruit in me.
Keep me on the narrow road. Amen.
Action Step:
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you one area of your life where you’re trying to walk in your own strength. Surrender it to Him today, and invite Him to lead you instead.
