Longing for His Return
Longing for His Return — Living with Eternity in View
"Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things."
— Colossians 3:2
---
Something Inside Us Knows: This Is Not Home.
No matter how good a moment feels down here,
it never fully satisfies.
There’s a constant ache in the hearts of believers —
a holy homesickness.
Because deep down,
we know we were made for something more.
We were made for Someone more.
We were made for Him.
And every day that passes,
every tear we cry,
every injustice we witness,
every ache in our bones,
whispers the same thing:
"Soon."
---
Longing for His Return Changes Everything.
When you live with eternity in view:
You stop clinging so tightly to temporary things.
You stop fearing what the world fears.
You stop wasting your life chasing comfort or applause.
You start loving deeper, giving freer, and hoping harder.
You realize this life is just a blink —
a vapor —
a doorway.
And the King is coming to open that door.

How to Cultivate a Heart That Longs for Him
1. Spend time with Him daily.
The more you know Jesus, the more you will long to see Him face to face.
2. Meditate on Heaven.
Read Revelation 21-22.
Imagine the beauty, the purity, the joy that’s coming —
not a dream, but a guaranteed future for His children.
3. Live lightly to this world.
Hold your possessions, your plans, even your dreams loosely.
They are not your treasure.
He is.
4. Encourage others with His return.
Talk about it.
Hope out loud.
Point weary hearts back to the promise:
“He is coming soon.” (Revelation 22:20)

Eternity is Closer Than We Think.
In a moment,
in the twinkling of an eye,
we will be home.
The struggles will vanish.
The tears will be wiped away.
The battles will be over.
And the first thing we will see —
will be the eyes of the One who loved us enough to die for us.
---
Long for His Return. Live for His Glory.

“Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness,
which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day — and not only to me,
but also to all who have longed for His appearing.”
— 2 Timothy 4:8
